A Letter To The Broken (For The Mind)

A Letter To The Broken (For The Mind)

“God doesn’t stir us up into confusion; He brings us into harmony.” 1 Corinthians 14:33 (MSG)

This goes out to anyone who struggles with the belief that they have split personalities or anything of that nature.

It’s all in your mind; it’s what you believe… but God can fix it if you let Him.

Right now, I plead the blood of Jesus over your minds and souls and declare that Satan has no power over you.

I can’t let you believe you’re crazy… because you’re not. God has redeemed you from the curses. Embrace that truth and walk in it.

I know that Adam and Eve screwed some stuff up when they fell in Eden – but when you step/stepped into Christ, those curses from the fall are/were broken.

I don’t care what the doctor said (or what you say) or what pills they put you on – they’re not God! Only He has the first and last word and He says that you’re healed and made whole! End of story.

I know it’s a struggle because you’ve believed that’s who you are for so long – but it’s not who you are! God didn’t create you to be unstable… He just didn’t make you that way. That wasn’t and is not His plan for you. And as much faith as you would put into the belief that you’re bipolar or have “split personalities” or anything, put that same faith in Christ that he can/will deliver you from that. He has the power to set you free from that.

Do not receive that lie from the devil! Again, I tell you that you are made whole, in Christ! Nothing missing and nothing broken! You are complete, fearfully and wonderfully made!

You are so much more than just an emotional mess. The way you feel, can be helped!

“People with their minds set on You (God), you keep completely whole, and steady on their feet, because they keep at it and don’t quit. Depend on God and keep at it because in the Lord God you have a sure thing.” Isaiah 26:3-4 (MSG)

There is peace for you; wholeness, in the Father.

Believe that for yourself and fight the good fight of faith! You can conquer that instability by rejecting the voice of the enemy and allowing God to to touch your mind and fix what has been broken!

You are not beyond repair and you’re not made to lose [your mind]! When Christ died and redeemed us from the curse, that was it! All we have to do is claim what He died to give us. We have liberty in Him.

I promise you, you can be victorious! You don’t have to lash out or lose control. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you – you can obtain self-control by practicing the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22).

“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering.

Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it.

Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” Romans 12:1-2 (MSG)

God has so much in store for you. He longs to set you free from the chains wrapped around your mind. He knows exactly who He created you to be and how He made you to function!

“Summing it all up, friends, I’d say you’ll do best by filling your minds and meditating on things true, noble, reputable, authentic, compelling, gracious—the best, not the worst; the beautiful, not the ugly; things to praise, not things to curse.

Put into practice what you learned from me, what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into his most excellent harmonies.” Philippians 4:9 (MSG)

God wants to bring the best out of you – but it’s up to you to accept what He says about you and walk in it. You have to believe it and receive it.

The things you speak, are the things you believe.

So if you believe you have these different personalities going on – you’ll continue to speak that and live that!

Life and death is in the power of your tongue!

If you say you’re bipolar, you’ll be that. If you say you have the mind of Christ, you’ll have that.

“Words kill, words give life; they’re either poison or fruit—you choose.” Proverbs 18:21 (MSG)

Only reason I can speak on this issue the way I have is because I’ve been there… I didn’t have a doctor to tell me though…

Honestly, no one at all told me that anything was wrong with me. They didn’t have to… I had convinced myself that there was something wrong with me. I felt that there just had to be something broken about me according to my behavior (mood swings and actions behind them).

Once I had believed that something was wrong with me, I started telling a few people and eventually they believed it because I started living like it – more and more. It was crazy.

It started to become me and I felt it. And I had never in my life felt that way before I believed it.

Man, I’m telling you, it’s all in the mind… and I can’t stress it enough, it is not of God!

What I came to realize though; is that all along my only problem was that I was just angry at a lot in life and didn’t know how to express it without blowing up or showing out. I knew no self-control.

But once I got this revelation, I couldn’t stay there. So I fought, I struggled and I overcame.

God set me free… He gave me a peace that surpasses all understanding.

Yes, it was a struggle not to explode like I once would (I failed countless times). Every war has it’s casualties… but when I allowed Jesus to take control, that was it. I just followed His lead and took Him at His word.

The battle is indeed intense… but Ephesians 6:10-18 will get you ready for it.

It’s time to fight back, family.

I’m fighting with you and I’m praying for you.

*If you don’t get the MSG (Message) Version – I point you to the NLT or ESV versions. That’s what I get into. Unless you get a better understanding from reading another version, that’s fine too.

Oh, and I want address this; don’t cling to that foolish disorder just so you can avoid being held accountable/responsible (a lot of people do that). That’s weak… you’re using it as a crutch to get away with stuff that you really know better than to do, because you know you may not have to pay the full consequences of it. That’s not cool. And God sees you.

It’s time for real freedom, man… it’s found in Christ.

“But that’s no life for you. You learned Christ! My assumption is that you have paid careful attention to him, been well instructed in the truth precisely as we have it in Jesus.

Since, then, we do not have the excuse of ignorance, everything—and I do mean everything—connected with that old way of life has to go. It’s rotten through and through. Get rid of it! And then take on an entirely new way of life—a God-fashioned life, a life renewed from the inside and working itself into your conduct as God accurately reproduces his character in you.

What this adds up to, then, is this: no more lies, no more pretense. Tell your neighbor the truth. In Christ’s body we’re all connected to each other, after all. When you lie to others, you end up lying to yourself.

Go ahead and be angry. You do well to be angry—but don’t use your anger as fuel for revenge. And don’t stay angry. Don’t go to bed angry. (Anger is an emotion built in us, but it’s not to control us, we control it). Don’t give the Devil that kind of foothold in your life. Watch the way you talk. Let nothing foul or dirty come out of your mouth.

Say only what helps, each word a gift. Don’t grieve God. Don’t break his heart. His Holy Spirit, moving and breathing in you, is the most intimate part of your life, making you fit for himself. Don’t take such a gift for granted. Make a clean break with all cutting, backbiting, profane talk.

Be gentle with one another, sensitive. Forgive one another as quickly and thoroughly as God in Christ forgave you.” Ephesians 4:24-25, 27, 29-30, 32 (MSG)
