This is an autumn lullaby for you
Because it’s about damn time I put you to bed
No matter what twisted words it carried,
the breadth of your breath ceased to amaze me
It was the only place I truly felt
at home
I needed so dreadfully to be your prodigy
And to see my iconic image in your mirror
But amongst the glory and the gloom
Was left nothing but a sleepy silhouette of my former self
And stepping back from the distorted image that your mirror
provided me
I am finally able to illuminate my own being
