First of all, PAWS or Philippine Animal Welfare Society is a registered non-profit organization that aims to protect and promote of humane treatment of all animals. It has an animal shelter called "PARC" (PAWS Animal Rehabilitation Center) and is located at Aurora Blvd., Katipunan Valley, Loyola Heights, Quezon City. PAWS also has rehabilitation for these animals in the hope of finding them new homes and a second chance at a good life.

Currently, the organization has two of its out-of-shelter programs which are PAWS’ humane education session and the Doctor Dog Program. If you want to know more about PAWS, I'll have their contact details in the end of this post.

For the month of October, PAWS has a "PAWS Pet Cafe" that features cats and dogs. PAWS Pet Cafe is located at the 3rd level of Trinoma mall (near Powerbooks) from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. Dogs and cats have separate days, so for the Cat Cafe, it will be every Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. While for the Dog Cafe, it will be every Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.

I'm a dog lover so I chose to visit the Pet Cafe on October 8 (Saturday) with my friend, Pat. We were at the venue at exactly 2pm and the line was already long. We must register first before entering the cafe.

There were guidelines/mechanics on how we can be granted entrance in the cafe.

PAWS Pet Cafe General Mechanics
September 30 to October 30, 2016
2pm to 6pm
Tuesdays to Sundays

  1. Order a dessert or drink from the available drink and dessert menus OR purchase a minimum amount of Php150 of any Purina Alpo, Friskies or Beggin at the Registration Booth to be granted entrance in the PAWS Pet Cafe.
  2. Payment should be done at the Registration Booth.
  3. After placing your order, you can enter the PAWS Pet Cafe and hang out with all the adorable dogs and cats of Philippine Animal Welfare Society.
  4. Your order will be delivered to you within 20minutes.

We chose to order a drink instead. There were a lot of choices to choose from such as Happy Lemon, Tokyo Bubble Tea, UCC Cafe Terrace, and Cafe Shibuya.

The place was a little small and customers were divided into batches with a maximum of an hour stay. A little sad that we can't stay longer, however, I still enjoyed my stay with the 5 furry dogs! And besides, it's a cafe for a cause, right? More customers, more animals to be protected! ๐Ÿ˜‰

The big cage-like are for the PAWS Cats Cafe days. There were 5 dogs in the cafe, 2 dogs for adoption and 3 dogs that are Doctor Dogs.

It was heartbreaking hearing the "rescue stories" of the dogs for adoption, Kate and Maui. I just want to adopt them but I already have a lot of dogs at home. Unfortunately, I don't have a clear picture of the two dogs because Maui was too busy sniffing and looking for the doggy treats. ๐Ÿ˜‚ While Kate was looking left then right, right then left, thus having blurry pictures of her. The dogs for adoption had blue bandanas on their neck with "Adopt Me" written on it. So if you want to see dogs for adoption, visit the cafe to see the furbabies (I mean the dogs!) in person.

The Doctor Dogs (Lady, Sam, and Rusty) are dogs that participate in assisting in the therapies of cancer patient. I got some pictures of them since Doctor Dogs are relatively calm and good with people, and honestly, I think they know how to pose for the camera! Photogenic dogs, indeed. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Doctor Dogs had purple bandanas with "Doctor Dog" written on it.

Doctor Lady, such a fine lady! ๐Ÿ’ƒ

Doctor Sam, make a bam! ๐ŸŽ†

Doctor Rusty, making your day lovely! โ˜€๏ธ

Each dog has a leash accompanied with their owner/PAW Volunteer. So don't wory if some dogs might bark at each other since each dog has a person to take care of them each.

An hour spending with the furry dogs was an amazing experience! I just want to hug and play with them. From this experience, I honestly can say, that dogs' weakness is... food! They were busy sniffing and finding the dog treats, and just sometimes ignoring us. Oh dogs, how can other people hurt you? ๐Ÿ˜ž Dogs are just so lovable! โค๏ธ

So if you're interested in animals, be it dogs or cats, visit the PAWS Pet Cafe at Trinoma since they'll just be there until October 30. If you want to volunteer, donate, or have inquiries, I have listed their contact details below.
