There are a lot of interesting books we should to read that can change our life forever. Sometimes, before reading a book, one needs to read a book review to catch a main idea of the book and understand, whether this book is interesting for them. This is a step-by-step guide. There are three important aspects characterizing a book review including an analysis, description, and evaluation. In the review, you should find an opinion of the author's review supporting with the evidence.

Before reading a review, you should concentrate on several key components and think about them very well:

- What is your title? Does it cover a topic of the review?

- Which introduction should you write? It should provide a reader with the most important information about the piece and hook the reader's attention, where a writer should tell the reader about their intentions according to the review.

- Also, you should arrange a brainstorm and emphasize the main topic, idea, characters, composition, subject. You can describe a scheme helping you write a review. Also, you can write about how the main idea develops using a topical and chronical method.

Questions you need to answer

There are several questions answers to which will help you write an analysis:

- Which is a main topic of the novel?

- Which is a main idea of the piece and which literature techniques a writer uses for developing the idea?

- You should emphasize the key moments of the composition including an introduction, a development of the action, culmination, course of events, and outcome. You can also describe a scheme helping you write an analysis.

- Do you agree or disagree with the author's point and why? You should provide your evaluation with arguments and bright examples from the story, and quotations making your analysis persuasive and allowing a reader to dive into the problem you are writing about more deeply.

- Which genre is a book written in?

- When you a reading a book, you should write down different quotations helping you prove your opinion and provide characteristics of the main characters. You can also create a table consisting of names of the characters, their main features, descriptions, and quotations proving the characteristics.

- Can you follow the author's thesis?

- Which style is a writer writing in? Which literature techniques does the author use for the novel?

- Have you defined the main concepts very well? Are they all provided with proofs?

- Is the language of the book clear for the reader? Is it enriched with artistic means including epithets, metaphors, rhetorical questions, and others?

- Is the conclusion of the novel convincing?

-Are there footnotes in the piece? Are they provide a reader with important information?

- Also, you can discuss the book's format. Which layout, binding does it have? Does a publication have maps, tables, schemes?

- Writing a paper, you can use the comparative method and compare the characters or the subject of the novel with characters and the subject of the other novel by this author or just another novel. When you provide a reader with corporativists analysis, this is very valuable and interesting for the reader.

Tips on how to write a review

I bring you several tips you should follow to write a successful analysis:

1. Catch the reader's attention with the introduction. You can start writing an analysis with the joke, quotation, aphorism, or other literature technique helping hook the reader from the very beginning. Before writing, you should learn the guidelines - some editors require plot summaries, and others don't. Create your own masterpiece using different literature techniques.

2. Writing a paper, don't forget to include a title, an author, publisher, date of the publication, edition, pages, ISBN, price, and so on.

3. Analyze the book the author has written, but not the book you want the author to write providing a reader with a real opinion about the story.

4. Don't forget to convey your own opinion and prove it with examples from the novel, quotations, descriptions of the characters, and others.

5. You should include the information about the author, their biography, reputation relevant to the piece.

6. Editing the analysis, you should think about that moment who is your review intended to: a reader who chooses a book for everyday reading or reader who knows a lot about literature and the author?

7. If you want to reach an objective evaluation of your analysis, you should wait before proofreading a little time.

Also, you can write about your own experience and relate it to the characters' lives. You can liken between your own life and life of the character.

Book review example ("Lord of the Flies")

I read this book in the childhood and evaluated it as the terrific misadventure of the group of schoolboys. But recently, I have decided to read this book for the second time. And, this allowed me to look at the novel differently. This has opened my eyes to a lot of interesting things hidden for me in the childhood. Also, I realized that the novel can be interpreted in many ways.

"Lord of the Flies" is a novel by William Golding about survival. It's considered a classic literature. In the Modern Library, it takes on the 41st place.

The story is about two groups of schoolboys living on the uninhabited island and fighting against each other. When they made it to the island, initially, they were enjoying their freedom from the adults, but after some time, this freedom is slowly turning into the desperate survival. A reader can observe how a group of English schoolboys is morphing into the mob, terrorizing and killing each other. This is a story of the bloodthirsty cruelty of children who tried to survive desperately.

When they started to realize that they wouldn't get any help, they developed rules to regulate their everyday life, state, and the arrangement of their little society. They elected a leader of their group Ralph. He was charismatic and pragmatic simultaneously. This guy knew a little more than other boys and was voted a leader of the group.

Also, in the story, a reader met Piggy. This is a compassionate and clever, but clumsy character who played a role of Ralph's conscience.

But then in the novel, another strong character appeared and is opposed to Ralph. This is Jack who argued against Ralph and has his own fan base supporting him. This character is a symbol of the natural force. When all these characters were united into the one whole, they succeeded to build a successful, thriving village for several days.

After that, the tribe was divided into two parts. The first one was led by Ralph, and the second one was led by Jack fighting against each other. Jack's tribe demonstrated a huge cruelty and brutality. And, the culmination of the novel is killing Piggy by Jack's tribe. This act demonstrates the death of the rational thought and civilized behavior.
