In a nut shell, yes you can. So long as what you are buying is Food Related, and that includes ingredients for preparing and assembling food items in your home. And, I've found that to be the case in our home. I spend money for our home on ingredients - flour, sugar, yeast, butter, eggs, corn starch, meats, fruit, vegetables, etc. And from those items I make at home our own breads, cookies, and meals. Take a peak at some of the items we've made in our home All of these images are pictures I've taken of the foods we cook and eat Home made chocolate syrup - water, sugar, vanilla extract, unsweetened cocoa powder - Food Items Home made brown sugar - white sugar & molasses - Food Items Bread - Flour, Sugar, Salt, Shortening, Yeast, and Water - Food Items Pancakes - Flour, Instant Non-Fat Milk, Baking Powder, Sugar & Salt - Food Items Pizza - Flour, Yeast, Oil, Salt, Sugar, Water, Pizza Sauce, Mozzarella Cheese - Food Items Pot Roast - Chuck Roast, Beef Broth, Vegetables, Spices - Food Items Cookies - Flour, Salt, Unsalted Butter, Powdered Sugar, Vanilla Extract - Food Items Syrup - Water, Sugar (white & brown) and Maple Extract - Food Items Yes all of the ingredients for these items were purchased using my food stamps...because the needed items were food based I was able to pay for them using the Food Stamps. Catching a theme? If its a food item in the store, then you can use your Food Stamps to pay for it! We don't spend a lot of our own funds to pay for food items and we don't eat out as much. It's a matter of taking the time necessary to prepare and cook foods that you would otherwise purchase prepared - you'd be surprised at how much of your government issued funds you can save by doing a lot of the work yourself! We started the month on June 11th with $650, and here we are near the end of the month and I still have $250.00 left to last us until July 11th, and I'll bet we don't use 2/3 of it! Coming up next, how to make the time necessary to prepare all of this yummy goodness!
