"If I were a flower, I'd be a sunflower - to always follow the sun and turn my back on darkness."

Tokyo is one of my favorite city in the world! You get the really cool trendy hip culture happening at the city center, with all the new technology and fashion; and 30 mins train ride away, you get the tranquility of the country side, and the slow relaxed lifestyle with great scenery.

During my last business trip to Tokyo in August, I've decided to walk out from the city, and visit somewhere that's more country side. I ended up visiting a Sunflower field, which is a very popular destination for the locals, but is a hidden treasure to the foreign visitors, as almost all information related to this were written in Japanese only.

The Sunflower field is located in a suburb called Kiyose, which  is only 30 mins train ride away from Ikebukuro. This Sunflower festival happens every year from August to September. I was very lucky, as the whole week that I was in Tokyo, the day I went to see the flowers was the only day that it did not rain :) I guess luck was on my side.

If you ever get to visit Tokyo in the summer time, I would highly recommend you to visit this place. You will not be disappointed.
