Long Distance

For all of you with a significant other that lives far away you know the struggle of long distance relationships.  All you want to do is hop into bed and cuddle with that one person but you find you guys are to far away, literally. 

How do you even go about long distance relationships?  No matter how far you are trust is the most important thing.  Long distance is where it becomes slightly more complicated between two people since you aren't there to provide the security you necessarily get when they're with you.  You have to make sure that the person you're dating is someone you trust and someone that is worth the commitment.  It's important to make sure that you can freely live and feel secure that they won't cheat on you while you're not there because really, if you have to worry about that, should you be dating them?

Communication is key. When you're far away you need to communicate and this can be one of the hardest things to do because of time difference. This is reliant on how far away you guys are and what the time difference is.  Either way, you need to make time to communicate.  No matter what, be honest with them.  Tell the other person how you're feeling make sure you're always on the same page.  Honesty is the best policy and if you have honesty, you have trust. If you guys are understanding of each other it will be fine and no matter what situation you will be able to find a common ground.

Spice it up. Send a flirty text every now and then and keep them on their toes.  I'm not telling you that you have to send nudes or whatever but every now and then flirt a little bit and be cheeky to keep the spark there.  Use some emojis if you like, do it your own way and show them you miss them. Doing this will drive you both crazy but it strengthens the desire to see each other.

Skype will also be your best friend. Talk with the other person on Skype as often as you feel necessary but also make sure it's not taking up all of your me time.

A cute way to replace dates, send them cute gifts.  Find something small that could make their day. You could send a small bracelet, something relating to an inside joke or even send them a letter and attach a cute photo of you both.  It does not have to be the most expensive gift, just show that you put thought into it and remember it's the little things that count.

At the end of the day with long distance, it can be tough however if it's meant to be, you guys will make it through thick and thin and won't let the distance stop you. Love is very strong and if you're meant for each other you'll make it.
