Last week Hurricane Matthew passed through the Caribbean damaging homes and taking lives throughout the region. The island of Haiti was hit hardest by the storm resulting in a current death toll of almost 900 people. Many people are blaming the American Red Cross for the damage that Haiti has suffered due to the fact that the country is still in shambles despite the fact that over $500 million was raised by the organization for Haiti after the devastating earthquake that damaged the island in 2010.
In 2015 it was reported that the Red Cross had only built 6 homes in Haiti since the earthquake.
It is unclear how the $500 million that was raised for Haiti was used. However, one thing is very clear. The American Red Cross is not helping Haiti so it is time to bring awareness to the organizations that do.
Man Dodo Humanitarian Foundation Inc., is non-profit organization dedicated to continuing Evanne "Man Dodo" Lozama's legacy of helping the less fortunate in Haiti. The organization involves volunteers from the U.S. and Haiti and also accepts donations for those in need.
If you want to help Haiti do so by donating to an organization like this that shows you where your money is going. It will take consistently contributing to organizations that are dedicate to changing the lives of the citizens of Haiti.
