So this is my first Top 5 Wednesday post, yay! I recently discovered this group on Goodreads and the link is here if you want to check that out.
There are so many books I want to read before the end of the year but I desperately want to read some books more than others. These five are probably my top ones:
1) Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
Yep, still haven't read that yet. I bought it when Glass Sword came out and that already feels like so long ago! I've heard so many mixed reviews about this book: some people loved it, some people hated it. I really want to read it even if I don't like it because at least then I'll finally know and it won't be sitting on my TBR forever. I read the first couple chapters a while back and got a really strong Hunger Games feel and I didn't really like The Hunger Games so here's hoping it's not like that!
2) Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas
These books are so popular and I'm dying to read them because of it. I recently read A Court of Thorns and Roses and I absolutely loved it but unfortunately I couldn't get into A Court of Mist and Fury. I'm really curious to see if I'd like Throne of Glass and with the fifth book coming out in September I really need to read these books pretty soon.
3) A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas
I got two hundred pages into this then I put it down and didn't pick it back up again. The start was great I really loved it but then it wasn't so great. I became increasingly fed up with the writing and the story and had no interest in reading it anymore. I'm sorry if this offends you because everyone has been screaming from the rooftops how amazing this book is. But don't worry, I am determined to finish it because I'm not happy about living it unfinished.
4) The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater
I wasn't going to read anymore of Maggie Stiefvater's books because I read The Shiver Trilogy (Shiver, Linger, Forever) and they weren't great. But everyone has been going mad for this series so I bought the first book and I really want to read it. Hopefully I'll love these books as much as everyone else does! The covers are absolutely gorgeous too, they'd look great on my shelf which is always a plus!
5) The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey
This seems like a book I would absolutely love and I'm so annoyed at myself for not reading it yet. It's recommended for fans of Divergent and The Maze Runner and since I devoured these books I'm excited to read this one! It seems pretty interesting and the story seems quite unique. I have heard mixed reviews on this but I'm still determined to read it and see what it's like.
So these are five books that I really want to read before the end of the year! Hopefully I can get to them at some point it just depends on what I'm in the mood for reading. I definitely want to read Red Queen soon, though. What books are you hoping to read before the end of the year? Leave a comment below!
