I loved this book, I loved the characters, I loved the story line, I loved everything about it. I have no complaints about this book. I started it in the airport and when I got off my plane I suddenly had only six chapters of the book left to read. I have no idea what went on around me during this point in time because I was so into the world of Willow Creek.

Maddox is a great character, I loved his character arch and his background. I love when broken characters try to move past their past but not forget where they came from.

Emma was amazing. I loved her, she was oblivious to things but Smeltzer wrote her in a way that it wasn’t like she was stupid. The way she laid out Emma’s life it made it clear why she avoided things and why she was so hurt when the big spoiler thing happened.

(Like how I avoided telling you what happened?  You’ll have to read it to find out.)

The last few chapters had me sitting up in my bed squealing with joy at the birthday scene and then screaming from chapter 23 on. I was so upset about what my poor babies were going through that I was in tears, my dog was very concerned about what was going on.

But it was okay because the ending was so great it made me forgive Smeltzer for what she put me through.

Story line/plot wise I really liked how quickly it moved, I didn’t feel like I was being dragged through the book or anything close to that. I was whisked off into Willow Creek with this quick paced plot that seemed to move on its own without being forced at anytime.

Overall this is amazing, I wanted the second book as soon as it was over and will definitely be buying the rest soon.
