Follow Author The full two-hour special episode of PBS's Frontline documentary series on the 2016 U.S. presidential election is available to view in full online now. The documentary follows the political trajectories of both of the two major party candidates for President of the United States, Democratic nominee Hillary Rodham Clinton and Republican nominee Donald J. Trump. It follows Clinton's four-decade long career in politics and Trump's relatively recent foray into the political arena, which was of course preceded by a life-long career in business and real estate.
One of the most interesting revelations in the documentary is that Donald Trump's determination to be the 2016 GOP presidential nominee and potential president in 2017 can be traced to the night of the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2011 where he was ridiculed by President Barack Obama for helping spreading the racially-tinged lie that the nation's first African American President was not born in the United States. According to Truth About Trump author Michael D'Antonio, Trump sees it as his personal mission to "redeem himself from being humiliated by the 1st Black President." And according to Trump '16 campaign surrogate Omarosa Manigault, "Every critic, every detractor will have to bow down to President Trump."
