Book Description:

“Today is Leonard Peacock’s birthday. It is also the day he hides a gun in his backpack. Because today is the day he will kill his former best friend, and then himself, with his grandfather’s P-38 pistol.

But first he must say good-bye to the four people who matter most to him: his Humphrey Bogart-obsessed next-door neighbor, Walt; his classmate, Baback, a violin virtuoso; Lauren, the Christian homeschooler he has a crush on; and Herr Silverman, who teaches the high school’s class on the Holocaust. Speaking to each in turn, Leonard slowly reveals his secrets as the hours tick by and the moment of truth approaches.”

My Review:

This is a really dark novel. If you have any suicidal thoughts don’t read this book.

There were somethings that Leonard said that you could see he was right, but most of the things he said were just do to him being so locked up inside his head that he saw things in a threatening way. I guess. Because sometimes when we are depress we tend to make everything about us, we let hate get in and once we do it becomes hard to make clear and fair judgement.

It’s funny(figure speech) to know that Leonard started his madness when something happened to Asher and he didn’t do anything.

I wish I could talk more but I can’t for spoiler reasons.
Also this book has some strong language and sexual content.
This book was so nerve racking my God!!!!!!!
The last chapters OMG! Don’t get me wrong the book keeps you on your toes from beginning to end, but the last couple of chapters OMG!!!!!
There are so many questions when it comes to that subject and sadly people don’t get the help they need.

Leonard’s voice feels really raw and real.
I don’t like Leonard’s mother.

I like this book because it felt real, how families sometimes are clueless and how sometimes no one gets help. Because sometimes things never get fix. Sometimes you have to do things by yourself.
