We Should Hang Out Sometime: Embarrassingly, A True Story.
by Josh Sundquist
“A bright, poignant, and deeply funny autobiographical account of coming of age as an amputee cancer survivor, from Josh Sundquist: Paralympic ski racer, YouTube star, and motivational speaker.”
“Josh Sundquist only ever had one girlfriend.
For twenty-three hours.
In eighth grade.
Why was Josh still single? To find out, he tracked down the girls he had tried to date and asked them straight up: What went wrong?
The results of Josh’s semiscientific, wholly hilarious investigation are captured here. From a disastrous Putt-Putt date involving a backward prosthetic foot, to his introduction to CFD (Close Fast Dancing), to a misguided “grand gesture” at a Miss America pageant, this story is about looking for love–or at least a girlfriend–in all the wrong places.”

My Review
I’d had never heard about Josh Sundquist before today.
That’s how long it took me to finish this book. Actually audiobook. And I loved it. It was just what I needed today after some really hard days I’ve been having. His stories are really funny and sometimes painfully-awkward lol. The way this book is written, it kind of makes you forget that it is actually a true story. His actions sometimes looked sweet and other times looked a little bit, well… creepy/desperate (but I’m pretty sure he knows that lol). Specially the whole tracking down all his almost-ex-girlfriends. But it was funny anyway.
Funny enough, some of his stories were relatable, especially if you grew up under a Christian family roof. (I got a lot of friends whose love life looks a little bit like his, lol) It happens.
It was a really great book. Definitely a must read.
The audiobook is really good and is read by him. But I recommend buying the book to so you can see the charts he makes. It’s just funny.
