No one ever got anywhere in life playing it safe. You need to take risks in order to get the things that you want.
I was taking a huge risk putting myself out there in the fashion blogging world. I'm plus size, I only buy clothes that are on sale or discounted, I have flaws. It's a scary thing putting pictures of yourself online and writing for the whole world to see. But if I wouldn't have done that, I wouldn't be writing for this website and I wouldn't know that I had the overwhelming support of those around me.
At first when people would ask me about my blog, I felt uncomfortable and weird discussing it because I didn't really know if I would accomplish anything and thought some people would see it as a failure. To my surprise though, people were asking about it because they were genuinely interested in where I was finding such awesome clothes and why I decided to start it.
It all started because two different women at work, women I didn't know but just passed in the hallway occasionally, had said to me "I really love your clothes, you have such great style." I went home after the second person said that to me and I told my husband I was thinking about writing a fashion blog for budget-conscious plus size women and he was totally on board. In fact, he is my cameraman. Anytime you see a photo of my on my blog that isn't a selfie, he is the one who took it. And he has some great angle/pose suggestions!
The reason I'm putting this out there is that in whatever aspect of your life you're thinking about right now: your career, love, a new hobby, just take that leap. It really may lead you to something great. Even if it doesn't, I'm sure you'll learn some valuable lessons along the way.
