It's Time

It's Time

Well, it’s that time of the year… The weather is cold, the skies are cloudy, and I’m in the corner of an airport staring at a row of empty chairs and unoccupied payphones awaiting for the time to board the plane and continue my journey to make God known. All this time in the past few months have come down to this very moment. The nerves are going uncontrollably, the butterflies are starting to peacefully fly within my stomach and as time approaches, the more the temperature continues to rise. I am not sure if it is because of the nerves, emotions or the beaming sun beaming the back of my neck and back. Yet, as all these events are taking place, I still chose to trust in the one who brought me to this point.

To some, this trip may be seen as a vacation and an opportunity to have a European getaway but to me, this is far greater. When our Lord and Savior Jesus roamed the streets of this world, He graciously taught His disciples that the things we do on this earth are strictly purposeful and have a tie to the kingdom of God. Throughout my days in Orlando, FL I was going through a time of preparation and heart change as God was continuing to shape and mold me into what He needs me to be while present in the places I will be attending.

This process has not been easy and there have been times when I have wanted to go home and forget about it all but in those moments God closed my eyes and had me see through the eyes of creativity that He gave me. In that moment I realized the plan that God has in place moving forward and how important this chapter in the book of life is to me moving forward. It is in moments of challenges and adversity that the peace of God that transcends all understanding begins to become ever more evident. I have been able to see the peace of God more in these past few days while going through a time of separation from the life that I once knew and into the life that God has for me.

The thing about Jesus is that He would send out His disciples and tell them to go out and make disciples wherever they would go. With the verse in Matthew 28:19, there are two parts to the “go”. Some people see it as go into the other side of the world and make disciples while on the other hand, others may see it as go and make disciples everywhere that you go. Whether it is the corner store, church, bus station or etc. When one goes, to make disciple I believe that Jesus meant it as going and making disciples absolutely everywhere you go. And to those who say that we have so many people going out into different parts of the world and not at home in one’s own backyard, my question is, what is it that you are doing to make a difference? Where does God call you to go, and are you there yet?
The purpose of this post is not to discourage others or place myself above others, but my purpose is to try and inspire others to go out and do what they are called to do. I strongly believe that if everyone in the world were to walk in their calling and use their skills and talents to glorify God then this world would not be in pain as it is today.
For me, this is the beginning of a journey that God has marked out in our lives and the beginning of the rest of my life. Will it be hard? Will I be lonely sometimes missing my family and friends? Maybe! Maybe not! But one thing that I do know is that not once will I be alone because the one sending me is the one guiding me.
If you have any questions, comments or would just like to speak and see if we can find out how to best use your talents to fit into the plans God has, then feel free to contact me. If not, then please, like comment and share. God bless!
