Within the Will

Within the Will

There is something beautiful about walking in the will of God for your life. No matter where you go and how tough things may seem, He always pulls through and takes care of those He loves. For those who know me, you may or may not know that I am very close with my family. And when I say close, I mean Siamese twin-like. Being close like that is both a blessing and a curse in some way. It is a blessing because no matter what, you know that you always have a group of individuals who love you and are there to back you up completely through all that life offers. At the same time it is a curse because whenever the family is apart, times are a little tough because of how much everyone misses each other and works off of each other.

Going into this trip to YWAM Biarritz I have been praying and asking God to go ahead of me and prepare me emotionally and give me the strength to go through the separation and be comfortable with being away from the family. Well… Then the day came to leave and it was nothing like I prayed for. It was such a tough time and the more people I said goodbye to, the heavier my eyes got from the constant crying. Some time after, I ended up in New York for a few days prior to leaving across the world to Biarritz, France for a 6-month journey with God. While in New York the separation anxiety began to creep up and make attempts at defeating me in a battle that it had no absolute opportunity at victory. I say that solely for the fact that it was not me that the anxiety was battling with but the Mighty and Powerful Lord and creator of the universe. The one that allowed anxiety to be, is the one that was fighting my battle.

After a day of touring the Big Apple and preparing for my travels, The Lord began to give me this utmost peace and patience in regard towards what lay ahead of me. Following my touring of New York, it was time to set out for Biarritz, France. Needless to say, any travelers’ nightmare of happening, happened to me. I was in a country by myself where I was not so familiar with the language, my flight was canceled and after being in 5 airports in one day my luggage was lost. Yet, it seemed like nothing was wrong. Life was still going on, I was still breathing and alive. I made it safely to my destination and the fact that I am even here is a blessing in itself. Why was everything alright you ask? (Great question, took it right out of my lips)

No matter what may have happened, God was still there. In every situation that should have ruined my day or upset me greatly, God was there right by my side. While in New York God provided me with two great friends that were able to lift me up spiritually by providing words of encouragement and life. When my flight was canceled, God was there by rescheduling me for a later flight and in the meantime setting it up so that I can pass my time in the business priority lounge and provide me with food which I had not eaten all day from being drowsy or nervous. And when my luggage was lost, God placed amazing individuals by the name of Erik, Kyle, and Leah to pick me up at the airport and make me feel welcomed and like family. Then, God continued to show off and brought people to my life that continuously spark up conversations about the one true king and Lord, Jesus Christ.

I guess what I am trying to say is that God is always by our side. Whenever someone is walking in God’s will for their life the verse in Deuteronomy 31:6 really comes to life when it says, “Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will not leave you or forsake you.” In every moment that was tough, He was with me and comforted me while loving on me from every angle possible.

If there is a message that I am attempting to get across to you is that you are not alone. Yes, life is tough and can knock us down sometimes, and yes temptation is a beast and can sometimes try to push us past our limits, BUT… YOU ARE NOT ALONE! The one who created you AND who saved you is by your side and wants to help you transcend past your trials and temptations. The grace that He has is for you to receive as you come into a relationship and life with the Lord of lords and King of kings. Do not pass up this opportunity but allow the job that was done on the cross in order to bring you freedom and love to be what leads you to a relationship with Him. The grace that is present for you to receive is available as a result of the price Jesus paid, not by any price we can afford. Receive it and live out the gospel freely.
