Start of the PlayOffs guys! A couple of surprising results really from the just concluded games in the Eastern conference between the Cavs and the Pacers as well as the Bucks and the Raptors.
IND 108 CLE 109 CLE leads 1-0
Well, it’s not that the Cavs won -- they are expected to win, however, not by the slimmest of margins. What, by 1? Why?
Every department was basically close despite Cleveland’s shooters not really shooting well; but as expected it was only their Big 3 that carried them. What gave the Pacers a chance though was their rebounding as they had 7 more rebounds compared to the Cavs. On the other hand, the Cavs showed ‘recognition’ with 5 more assists than the Pacers. So in the end, t’was really just the breaks with CJ Miles missing the final shot that could have won the game for Indiana.
Well, Paul George is not all alone now in carrying the Pacers -- they got Lance Stephenson back! How ‘bout putting him back in the starting lineup? Still, if they could keep up the pressure on their succeeding games then the Pacers could win at least a game or two. And who knows?
MIL 97 TOR 83 MIL leads 1-0
Wow, Toronto lost big time! By 14!? More than Giannis scoring 28 for the Bucks, obviously the missing link was the Raptors’ Kyle Lowry -- only 4 points on 2 of 11 shooting while missing all of his 6 attempts from 3s for a -22 aggregate.
Still, while the Bucks made more threes 9-5 and had 7 more assists compared to the Raptors -- they only actually had 12 made free throws, and that’s just half of what the Raptors had converted with 24! Hmm...
This series could go the distance. And imagine if Jabari Parker wasn’t injured, the Bucks does really have a chance!
