This past summer I did a lot of DIY tries, so that I could redo/update my room. Since I wasn’t moving out into a dorm, or apartment, my parents let me mix up my room. This was one of the first things I tried, and it ended up being easier than I thought. The only hard part was picking out the pictures.
All I did was buy a cork-board from Michael’s, along with some ribbon. Then I took the extra picture I had from making my high school scrapbooks, and hot glued them to the board. I had spent an hour choosing the placement, because I wanted to fit as many as possible. Some of them are from the earlier years of high school, not just my senior year.
After placing them, and glueing them, I then placed the ribbon on the border of the cork-board. After gluing that down, I let it sit for a couple hours, to make sure everything stayed in place.
I then hung it up on my wall by hammering nails through the board, trying to make it as straight as possible. The picture doesn’t do it justice, but in my opinion, it looks great next to my mum from senior year. Then while I was cleaning out my closet, I found all the medals I had accumulated throughout middle school, and high school. I then tied them together, and hung them over the corner of the board.
This was a great way to save wall space, without all the frames. I love how it looks, and I honestly didn’t think it would turn out as well as it did. For any other suggestions on DIYs you would like to see let me know. I will be posting a few that I did over the summer, along with some summer recipes.
