Relax!

In this demanding, fast pace world of ours we don't often enjoy the journey of our life because we are so preoccupied with getting to the proverbial finish line.  If and when we barely manage to meet our goals, we are exhausted and sometimes even bitter at was once a admirable goal.  Instead of enjoying the journey along the way and celebrating our accomplishments, we become task masters to a system...sucking out any fun and enjoyment of reaching our goal.  We cheat ourselves out of allowing God to be part of our journey because we our afraid that we won't achieve what we want.  If we are honest, we are selfish in our goal setting by s the bestnot allowing God into the process...which will lead us down a long, crooked road of disappointment.  Trust that God knows our heart...He knows the best way to accomplish the goal, thus providing an enjoyable journey experience of peace.  We need to relax, rest and receive reassurance from our Father that we are on the right path...the one He designed for us.  When you wander off...ask most of us do, stop and rest in Him who controls all and recenter in prayer.  Relax, the world will go on without you.  Dan

Jesus Calling Devotion for today (credit - Sarah Young):

August 4

Sit quietly in My Presence while I bless you. Make your mind like a still pool of water, ready to receive whatever thoughts I drop into it. Rest in My sufficiency, as you consider the challenges this day presents. Do not wear yourself out by worrying about whether you can cope with the pressures. Keep looking to Me and communicating with Me, as we walk through this day together.

Take time to rest by the wayside, for I am not in a hurry. A leisurely pace accomplishes more than hurried striving. When you rush, you forget who you are and Whose you are. Remember that you are royalty in My kingdom.

Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” —John 14:6

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. —Colossians 4:2
