Even though our daily battle is not in the physical but the spiritual realms, this graphic captures the idea of serious warfare, life and death struggles. Many of the drawings I've seen coupled with this Scripture in Ephesians are of knights of old, brandishing bulky shields and huge swords. But why not include current, warlike images such as this one?
Regardless of the image chosen to represent battle, the war between good and evil is real and daily. Ignoring that fact is like sticking one's head in the sand, hoping all will work out somehow. Fortunately, Jesus Christ has prepared the victorious battle plans that will one day be revealed to suddenly change the current heavens and earth.
Until that monumental day arrives, He has established a way for everyone to have His personal protection and daily guidance. It is simple and life-changing, "Everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved!" ~Romans 10:13 Once we take that step of faith, we've enlisted in His army and will be issued God's powerful, invisible Spiritual Armor to defend ourselves from the devil's attacks.
“Finally, be strengthened by the Lord and by His vast strength. Put on the full armor of God so that you can stand against the tactics of the Devil. For our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the world power of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens. This is why you must take up the full armor of God, so you may be able to resist in the evil day. . .” Ephesians 6:10-13
