Defining Moments!

Life defining moments. We all experience them.  Some may be good, others bad. They can mold, shape and direct our lives. A defining moment can be described as that one moment in your life that changes everything. It may be a moment of joy, sorrow, hope or heartbreak.

Defining moments don’t all happen at once, but over the course of our lives. During these moments we’re presented with opportunities to change our minds and correct our course if necessary. That’s a good thing, because sometimes we make wrong decisions and take wrong turns. I truly believe the decisions you make today will not just affect tomorrow, but will determine your future and impact the lives of others.

I have experienced many defining moments in life...some good and some bad....marriage, childbirth, divorce, loss of both parents, loss of a job, suffered a fractured wrist after being struck by a car, crisis with a child, financial loss...etc.  The most significant of all of these was deciding to follow Christ....  Making this decision changed the way I perceive life and what is possible. Throughout many of the above losses I experienced God in a profound way. "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Matthew 19:26definingmoments300x3002

As we approach the New Year I wanted to share some things I think will be paramount in 2017.  I believe 2017 will be a defining moment for many... There are many, many promises of God in Scripture. All of God’s promises are "Yes!" "We come into agreement with His promises when we speak "Amen." Jesus said in Revelation 1:14 that He is the Amen, the witness who is faithful and true.

The promises of God are not "yes" then "no." They’re not "I don’t know" or "Maybe so." "For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory." 2 Corinthians 1:20 (MEV)

Will He save you? "Yes!" Will He heal you? "Yes!" Will He deliver you? "Yes!" Will He set you free? "Yes!" Will He supply your needs? "Yes!"  Will He bless you? "Yes!" I weary of seeing the enemy have his way in the lives of many of God’s children. No doubt God is tired of His children living in lack, fear, unbelief…. fighting an unseen enemy when He has given us the necessary tools to defeat the enemy.

The Bible uses numbers in patterns or to teach a spiritual truth. Two of the most commonly repeated numbers in the Bible are 7 and 40. Although some still debate the significance of numbers, I have learned that understanding biblical numerology has been significant in helping me understand the things the Holy Spirit has been teaching me about destiny. In biblical numerology the number 17 symbolizes "overcoming the enemy" and "complete victory."  After seeking the Lord for insight and what He has revealed to other prophetic voices, I believe 2017 is going to be a year when many will experience long awaited breakthrough … I believe we will see God in an amazing way and witness manifestations of His love and grace through signs, wonders and miracles.

The Word of God is living and active. If you confess the Word of God over your heart and life, it will not return void. "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart."

You have to first believe that the enemy is defeated…begin to speak with authority that God have given us… speak to the circumstances of your life and command them to line up with the Word of God. Confess the Word over your life, your family, your health, your finances....

Transition is upon you.  I trust that God is shifting things around in your finances, family, career and/or ministry.   How do I know, because He has been doing the same for me…? We are called to a kingdom that is not of this world. Let go of the things that will hinder you from experiencing God goodness in your life this coming year. The reality is that you cannot move forward holding on to the past.

I am reminded of the story of Lot's wife Genesis 19. Fleeing from Sodom and Gomorrah at the urgency of the visiting angels was a defining moment and major transition in her life. Yet, she couldn't make the shift to the future because she was still tied to the past. The command was given, "Flee for your life! Do not look behind you, nor stop anywhere in the Plain; flee to the hills, lest you be swept away."  Sadly, she became a pillar of salt after looking back at Sodom. Hmmm. Luke 17:32 says, "Remember Lot's wife."

We are in a season that we need to press in for the next move of God! As we position ourselves and seek His face during this season, expect God to shift things around your finances, family, career, ministry.... You cannot afford to miss the moment that is happening now!

Direct your faith toward God... He intends for us to live by faith...God is ready to fulfill those promises.  Choose to live a life of faith knowing your faith will be tested.  Let go of faith in this world system and your ability to accomplish things on your own without God.... "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." Hebrews 4:12

Let's finish 2016 strong in faith. Purpose in your heart this coming year to reignite your faith in what God has promised you…what He has promised every believer…direct your faith toward God. Breakthrough is imminent.  2017 will be beyond anything you can imagine!

Be encouraged, 2017 will be a year of great victory!
