Since Miami is near the ocean, there are plenty of boat tours to embark. You can rent a boat, take a cruise-ship sized tour, or even paddleboat around the calmer waters. But if all of that sounds lack-luster to you, then you're in luck.

There is one iconic, exhilarating boat tour that's become something of a local institution: Thriller Miami Speedboat. It's more than a boat tour. You'll get your thrill on as you see South Beach in a new way. Here are five things you should know about planning a trip to Miami and experiencing Thriller Miami Speedboat.

About Thriller Miami Speedboat

This is the perfect boat tour if you're looking for an adrenaline rush on the water. You'll ride on a boat that has a 2,200-watt sound system, playing energetic music while you're riding the waves. The captain will thrill you with his incredible tricks.

By the time you reach your destination, you'll get to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of South Beach. You'll also get a lesson about Miami while embarking on this thrilling adventure along the Miami coast. The entire water ride takes about 45 minutes. You'll even notice that the tour guides are more informative than on other speedboat tours. Because you're going fast, the Thriller Miami ends up covering about three times the distance versus other boat tours.

Tours, Rates & Packages

Tickets cost $24 for children (who must be age 3 and up) and $38 for adults. There are also private tours available for birthday parties, corporate events, office outings, and school field trips. You can also book a package tour through Big Bus Miami, Brightline Trains, Bubba Gump, Let's Make a Daiquiri and Wynwood Buggies. Each of these packages includes tickets to the Thriller Miami Speedboat Adventures and private coach or charter transportation.

Famous Rides

There are also a wide variety of tour options available. As previously stated, there are two vessels available: the Thriller Hurricane and the Thriller Miami. Both rides are 45 minutes in length. The only difference between them is the type of ride you'll experience. The Thriller Miami Speedboat takes guests on a Miami-Vice style ride. You'll feel as if you're being whisked away from criminals.

The Thriller Hurricane vessel is known for its colorful and wild appearance. This unique boat spins guests 180-degrees in Biscayne Bay. It's one of the most thrilling jet boat rides that exist in the South East. This ride features splashes, turns, and whirls that make you feel as if you're flying into the water.

Where to Stay

It's easy to get to this boat tour by bus, shuttle, taxi, or limousine service. There are hotels near downtown Miami that are near these options for transportation. One example is the Hyatt Regency Miami, which is known for its spacious rooms with Miami River views and modern amenities. This hotel is in the heart of Brickell, one of the hippest communities in all of Miami. Also within a short distance are Coral Cables, the James L. Knight Center, Little Havana Miami Riverwalk, Port of Miami, and the Wynwood Arts District.

The InterContinental Miami also features a shuttle to the airport and other various hotspots around South Beach. Its location in the downtown financial district means you're centrally located to explore the city or the beach, and you get stunning views over Biscayne Bay.

Private Charters & Other Options

The Thriller Miami company offers private charters that will drop off or pick up you and your group at different locations. You can choose to be dropped off or picked up at a dock, marina, or restaurant in the Miami area, making your arrival in style.

There are two boat options for groups. The first option is the classic Thriller Miami Speedboat, which features a 55-feet power catamaran that's certified by the US Coast Guard. This boat has room for up to 36 guests. The second option is the newer Thriller Miami Hurricane, which is a 55-feet jet boat that's also certified by the US Coast Guard. This boat accommodates up to 85 guests.
