Why I Fell in Love with London

Why I Fell in Love with London

London is one of the most famous cities in the world. Whenever a cheesy pop song includes a list of cities in their lyrics, London is normally always included. For example, when Jennifer Lopez ft Pitbull describe going from ‘London to Ibiza’ or in Justin Bieber’s ‘I’ll be there’ where he sings about Paris and London. London is famous. From its Underground to the Queens Palace, something has always excited me about the city.

It only struck me at the beginning of this year that I had never been to London!?. And, it is not like I live in a different country to it either. I live in Manchester, only two hours by train. So, no excuses, this year it was my mission to go and see this city for myself. And low and behold, I’ve now been three times! That’s because it didn’t disappoint…

Here are some of the reasons why I fell in love with London, and why you just might too!

  • The London vibe: This may sound obvious, but there were no doubts as to where you are. Whether it was the black cabs hooting their horns as they whizzed past or the beautiful sight of the buildings that looked like no city I had been to before. I knew I was in London as it just felt so different, and I was love every part about it.

  • The London Underground: No matter how many times I will go on the London underground it never seizes to amaze me. The thought that normal London traffic is happening above our heads just baffles and amazes me! Plus, I love the Oyster card system and would love every city to have them.

  • The Beauty: London has so many wonderful sights to see. From Hyde Park, to Oxford Circus and Trafalgar square, not to mention Buckingham Palace. It is just full of iconic and beautiful things with so much history behind them.

  • There is So Much to See and Do:  There is so much to do and see in London. No matter how many times you can go, there is always something you haven’t done. Most of the museums are free, like the Natural History Museum. There is always a show to see, or a new and current place to eat. Madame Tussaud's, The Shard, The London Eye. Whatever your mood, or where ever the night takes you, there is always something there for you in London.

Even though it is jammed packed full of workers and tourists and the weather isn’t that great, it still all contributes to that unique London experience that no other city could offer. Despite never wanting to live in London, it will always be my go to city for a fun and exciting weekend break!
