Sometimes in our lives, we were happily celebrating our 18th birthday. Then after few years we’re stepping on the silver age of 25. And when the time of turning 26 comes close, you just want to find a time machine, step inside it and push every button that can bring you back in time where you just turned 18. When you turn 26, you will realize that it is the biggest turning point of your life. It hurts to accept it though but it is the time of your existence where you have to take everything seriously, like responsibly serious.

I just turned 26 this week and I must say that stepping in this age made me realize things, thoughts that I have and I have to make a move on it. So let me share with you guys another “10 things” of my life and this time it’s all about the 10 things I realized after turning not old but more awesome.

1.    IT’S TIME TO LET GO OF THINGS AND PEOPLE FROM YOUR LIFE.
-    I guess this is the hardest lesson to learn and yes I admit it I’m one sucker of the past. But I’m lingering too much. It’s time to welcome the new things and people in our life. Is it all about opening the new chapter right?

2.    IT’S TIME TO BE MORE MATURED.
-    I’m not saying that we should not be kids at times. But it’s time to be more matured in some areas of your life. Choices, decisions and even when buying something at the mall. We should stop thinking about just ourselves but we should start thinking about our future us too.

3.    I’M 26 AND STILL FIGURING OUT WHAT TO DO.
-    I think we all experienced this phase of our life where everything seems to go by so fast. I’m 26 and I still have many unchecked boxes on my bucket list. Can’t help to ask myself of what I’m doing in my last 25 years. Yes, I have a career, I work in the office at least 9 hours a day, I’m busy with other things but yet I’m still figuring out what to do. I still want to do a bunch of stuff and I need to figure it out soon.

4.    EVERYONE IS GETTING MARRIED, ENGAGED OR GETTING MARRIED.
-    My news feed on Facebook is one of those typical feed where you can just see prenup photos, wedding photos, guy’s proposal to their girlfriends and some cute newborn babies. Do I get pressured by these photos and events? No, not at all, I’m pretty sure I’m not alarmed that people in my life are getting engaged, married and having babies while I’m busy with my movies, chocolates cuddling myself alone on a couch in my sweater. Nope, no pressure at all!

5.    IT’S TIME TO BECOME FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE.
-    Yes, I have a job and I get paid every 15 days but I still have to get more serious with my finances. I have savings and insurance but I need to widen my scope. I have to consider my own house, property, and my future family. The thought scares me big time. Mom, I’m done playing as an adult can you pick me up now?

6.    I’M 4 YEARS AWAY FROM THE BIG 3-0.
-    Getting old isn’t bad at all but when you think that you will be out of your twenties and will be entering another decade of your life, who wouldn’t freak out? There’s still so much to be done, there are still pending things to do in my vision book and I need more time.

7.    WHEN WILL I GET MARRIED?
-    Okay, this has been my issue with my family. Turning another year old means I will be more pressured, my mom will be panicking, and my aunt will try to hook me up with dates. Relax people, I know this is the ideal age to get married but not for me. I still have lots of things to do, okay? But really, when will I get married?

8.    IT’S TIME TO TAKE YOUR ONCE IN A LIFETIME CHANCES.
-    I’m working on this part of my life. I’m not getting any younger so if an opportunity knocks I will grab it and what I can do more. I so want to take that jump and experience the great adventure ahead of me.

9.    IT’S TIME TO STEP OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE.
-    Still living with your parents or relatives? I know living alone can be hard for us sometimes because we have to do everything by ourselves. Yes, I will figure this out soon for its time to be more independent?

10.    REMOVE ALL YOUR DOUBTS IN LIFE FOR YOUR NOT GETTING ANY YOUNGER.
-    We all have these “what-ifs” in our life. But at this age, we should know by now that answering these stupid two words won’t get us into anywhere. It will just keep us from moving forward and see the real result of answering questions with just a yes or no.

Getting another year old is a happy thing for God gave us another year to experience life. But life is not just having fun at all times it comes with great responsibility to make life worth living. Share your 10 things you realized when you blew that candle this year.
