Arguably the second best out of the trilogy but still much was left unanswered. Like what exactly did the maze achieve? Still, the film could easily have relied on action to see it through but it also touches on deeper issues: class divide, how easily humanity turns on each other in a crisis and, paradoxically, how powerful friendship and community is when everything else is at a loss. I was genuinely on the edge of my seat at times. The characters were brilliant and multi-layered although, Thomas, reckless, brave, loyal to a fault, was the least so. The series pulls you in by its mystery, by the lovable characters and the twists and turns throughout; The Death Cure was a fitting conclusion to a great trilogy.
