Our view riding the Hop on Hop Off NYC Bus Tour

"The rights our forefathers established. As it waves high in the currents of freedom, where the Torch of Liberty shines over the sea, does she give meaning to unity." -Anthony Liccione

Hi Readers!

We have combined in one entry our whereabouts for the 3rd and 4th day as this was time we got the chance to visit Washington D.C. on the 4th day of this whole trip (see Washington, D.C.: What to Do When Your Best-Laid Plans Go Awry).

Early in the morning of the 3rd day, we used our NYC pass to ride on the Hop On Hop Off Tour Bus. It was a double decker bus wherein the tour guide handed out earphones in which one can hear the explanations of the history or descriptions of the buildings that the bus got to pass by. The highlight of the tour for us was the Flat Iron Building because we had been talking about taking pictures of it since we see and hear about this structure quite often in movies and television shows.

The bus was heading south of Manhattan but we decided not to finish the tour. When the bus stopped near Battery Park, we hopped off and waited for the next boat to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. In the photo below, the line may seem long and the area may look packed but in all honesty, we did not really wait that long to board. The boat came every 15 to 30 minutes or so.

The trip to Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island ended our 3rd day of sightseeing and we decided to go back to our airbnb earlier than usual to prepare for our trip to Washington D.C. on the 4th day.

Please read our separate entry on what happened in Washington D.C. Please continue reading the 5th day of this series. Thank you for your interest in our blog.

Sending love your way,
