Sometimes, whether we like this or not, we have to face a break up considering various circumstances. Whilst break ups are not easy to handle and are a reason for million heart breaks, break ups are a needed milestone in our lives that lead us to something better, something that we didn't expect in the first place. So, after having lived through a few break ups, I thought I'd share my list why these helped me become the person that I am today:

1. It is unhealthy to be involved in a relationship, where one feels suffocating by the other. It is ok to be very involved in the relationship, but you have to remember to give each other space and time to breathe. If you feel like you are stuck in a place, where you become a person your partner wants you to be and not yourself - perhaps break up would be a healthy thing there. Give yourself distance to regain yourself.

2. You appreciate your future partner more, when you meet the right one. Being mistreated in previous relationships, teaches you to appreciate someone who loves you for the way you are. 

3. After a break up, you don't necessarily feel like jumping into a new relationship immediately. So, when you do meet someone that sparks your interest - you take your time to get to know them and not rush into anything. This is a healthier way to approach any relationship, learning more about the person and learning to trust someone again. 

4. You learn more about yourself. Any relationship can teach you more about you. What you like, what you don't like, etc. When you break up with someone, you learn how you deal with the heart break, you start questioning if you were ever in love with your ex-partner.
