In today’s busy schedules, we may want to compose a mail and send it letter. This can be a mail to people in other time zones, a mail birthday wishes or for an anniversary. It is better to send the mail such that the person receiving will not receive it at middle of night.  But It is not possible to keep an alarm to remind us to send the mail at later time. Instead if you are using Hotmail and sending the mail to Gmail user, Hotmail provides an amazing feature to schedule the composed mail to be sent later time. Hotmail sends the mail by itself at specified time without user’s interference required.

So here the 5 simple steps to schedule an email:

1. Compse a email as you normally do.

2.Click on options tab.

3.Delivery options widow will pop up.

4.In delivery options, click on the Do Not Deliver Before option.

5.Mention the time and date on which the mail is to be sent.

 

Here is another way to schedule email:

3.Click on the option Send Later.

Alternative ways to schedule mails:

Boomerang's popular “Send Later” function makes it simpler for you to schedule an email to be sent at a later time. You can compose an email now, draft it, and then schedule it to be sent automatically at the perfect time. Just write the mail as you normally would, then click the Send Later button.

We can also schedule mails using add-on’s like Email studio. Email studio is a Gmail add-on that will help you in scheduling email messages inside Gmail but you also to send recurring emails. Unlike email scheduler extensions like Boomerang or Sidekick which are browser specific, Email Studio is available right inside the Gmail website and thus across all desktop browsers. You can also schedule email messages inside the Gmail app in Android without installing any app. Email Studio is free to use but you can go premium and unlock new features. The following steps tell us hoe w to use email studio.

  1. Open the Gmail, compose an email, add the message body and specify the recipients in the To, Cc or Bcc fields. After you are done composing an email, save the mail to drafts.
  2. Go to the Gmail add-on store and install Email studio, to add Email Studio to your own Gmail account.
  3. After the Email Studio add-on has been installed, go to your Gmail mailbox and open any message in the inbox.

  1. You’ll see the Email Studio icon in the right sidebar. Click on the icon to open the add-on and grant the necessary authorization. This is necessary since all the emails will go out from your own Gmail account.
  2. You’ll see a list of services available inside the Email Studio sidebar. Click the Email Scheduler service and then choose Add New Schedule to schedule the draft message that you have composed in the previous step.

The email scheduler window presents the list of all your Gmail draft mails in the drop-down. Select any mail and then specify the preferred date and time when that mail should be delivered.

The emails are scheduled in the time zone of your browser but you can also change the time zone per email. Internally, the email scheduler sets up a cron job with Google Scripts and the emails will be sent within +/- 15 minutes of the specified time.The add-on run in the background on Google servers and will automatically deliver the message at the time chosen by you even if your computer is switched off.

How to cancel the scheduled email?

Sometimes we may need to change the timings of scheduled email or delete the mail entirely. Hotmail has provided features for this also.

The following are the steps to delete or reschedule email:

1.Go to the outbox folder.

2.Find the scheduled email there.

3.Click on the more options and under the delivery options uncheck the Do Not deliver before box. You can now send the mail immediately.

4.To reschedule just change the time and date.

If you would like to reschedule of a previously scheduled message, or if you would like to unschedule an email, go to your Gmail and open the Email Studio add-on. Here, choose the Email Scheduler service and you’ll have the option to remove or edit the schedule of previously scheduled emails.
