Hello, guys! I'm Clara Villaman and I wanted my first post on this platform to be one that could help all of you. Today I bring to you 5 easy ways you can relax and feel better. Studying, working, having a family and many other things, can trigger anxiety in us, that's why it is very important to relax as much as we can. So, without any further ado,  here they are:

1. Taking a long shower or bath: This is something we do every single day, but we can make it a therapeutic moment for us. I recommend using a green tea or lavender shower gel, because of all of their properties. While green tea has antioxidants, lavender is an antidepressant, an antibacterial and helps detoxify the body. You can also light some candles and put on instrumental music to help you relax even more.

2. Visiting a park or the beach ALONE: I emphasize on the alone part because this is what's going to make the activity relaxing. We are in contact with a lot of people everyday, therefore ,it is crucial that we have some alone time at least once a week. Take this time to think, write a journal, read, walk around and do any other thing you feel like doing.  Remember to disconnect from the internet, this time is just for you.

3. Spa night: This can be at home or at an actual spa. A spa night, is a great way to relax because you can treat your body while you allow your mind to rest. You can make a facial mask with simple ingredients like plain yogurt, honey and lime juice or avocado with olive oil and honey. You can make a bubble bath, massage your feet and hands, and you can do your own mani and pedi. This time is for you, make it special.

4. Yoga:  People often think yoga means super hard positions and a super fit body; but that is far from the truth. Yoga is a way to free your mind and connect with your inner self. You can google easy yoga positions you can do at home and start with that. If you don't feel like doing yoga, another thing that you can do is some breathing exercises; this will help you calm down and relax.

5. Eat healthy: Eating healthy is powerful and we don't even notice. When you eat fresh fruits and vegetables, your body get energized. Drinking a lot of water, adding protein to your diet and exercising on a regular basis, can help into lowering your anxiety levels.

Just take the time to listen to your body and do what makes you feel healthy and happy! I'm not a doctor, so if you think you need professional help, make sure you get it. Other than that, just lay down, and relax. If you have more tips or suggestions, leave me a comment.

Until the next time,

Clara Villaman
