Virtual Reality has been rapidly gaining a following in today’s world. Tech Giants are prophesizing that it will be the IT thing of the future. Apple has a lot of cool stuff in the App store for people who want to take advantage of this technology. Here are the top 6 apps that are making waves in the water.

Whenever Virtual reality is mentioned, the first thing that comes to mind is the Google Cardboard app. This is a free app and it offers you two things. The first is how to set up your Google Cardboard headset properly. The second is that it has five VR tours for you that give you an idea of what phone-based VR can bring for you.

The first experience takes you on an expedition around virtual places. The second one, Exhibit, takes you through a virtual museum. You can walk through a host of virtual cities with Urban Hike and then there’s the Arctic journey which shows you the Northern Lights and lets you create your own flower garden. The last one is Kaleidoscope which is, a kaleidoscope. What else can we say?

YouTube has been in on the Virtual scene for a long time. It offers you two types of experiences. You can enjoy full Virtual Reality with 360-degree videos or you can enjoy a normal video on a virtual screen. There’s a limit to how much you can enjoy the virtual screen. What you can do instead is to enjoy the YouTube Virtual Reality Channel. You can experience things like driving a Porsche or skydiving. You can have a front-row seat to Indie bands. Just like any collection, there’s the mixture of the good and the bad. You’ll have to weed out the bad ones yourself.

Google Street View was a revolutionizing technology which let you wander the streets of any city while remaining in the comfort of your favorite barker lounger.  Now you can do the same thing with a headset attached to your head. There’s something about viewing a place in 360 degrees that you just can’t replicate with a two-dimensional view. You can wander through Paris, Bora-Bora, or any other city that you like.

Are you a fan of roller coaster rides? Do you like hurtling towards the ground at breakneck speed, surrounded by screaming people and the wind rushing by your face? If the answer is yes, then you are definitely going to like this one. The VR Roller Coaster app randomly generates a different city every time you log in. there are two roller coasters that offer you everything that a real roller coaster offers you including steep climbs and sudden drops.

For all you authors, readers, poets and such. This is the app for you. It is designed to work with the usual VR headsets available in the market. The app transports you to The Somme during the First World War. You get to follow the path of a rifle bullet which will lead you to the second part of the poem. The app was basically produced to promote a BBC documentary in which poems were animated. These poems are available online for normal viewing as well.

We’re sure that you’ve seen YouTube videos that take the viewer on a journey through the human body. If you think that will prepare you for Incell VR, you are WRONG! This is like nothing you’ve ever seen before. Technically not an app, this is a game but we’ve included it as an app because this is the best way of teaching someone or learning about the human body. It takes place inside a human body and you race through the place collecting points as well as learning about the different components of a cell.
