Exodus 36 “Adorned for God’s Work”

God placed his hand upon two men with “skill and intelligence” to know how to build the Tabernacle; the place that God would come and dwell amongst his people. Bezalel was from the tribe of Judah, the first tribe in order and Oholiab was from the tribe of Dan, the last tribe in order. How fitting that the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last would give the Israelites a picture of himself through His choice of these two men. As God called, anointed and prepared these two men so he prepares each of us that we may “adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.” [Titus 2] He has in eternity past adorned each of us to perform His good work that we might “worship the Lord in the splendor of holiness.” [Ps 96]

Today as you ponder your many gifts and talents, may you do with this in mind: “whatever you do, do all to the glory of God” [1Cor 10] just as Bezalel and Oholiab would do as they built the Tabernacle.
