She is painfully beautiful.

He watches her from afar, afraid to make the first step. She’d never look like a guy like him, would she? His heart aches. She’s always on his mind. He can’t stop thinking about her sweet laugh when she hears something funny; about her eyes in which sparkles intelligence, about her loving smile when she looks at her friends.

He’s damned to endure a life without love.

But he’d rather spend his life alone than in the company of someone who was not her. It hurt him to the core, but he would be strong. All he wanted, after all, was for her to be happy. He doubted he’d be able to make her so. He was fragile in his soul. Love was sometimes not enough…

Not when he knew he was as broken as him. She deserved someone better.

What he doesn’t know, however, is that every single time he turns his head, her eyes lay on him. His gaze seems lost and sad, all she feels an urge to go and hug him. But they don’t know each other at all, so it would be way too odd. He looked as if he didn’t want to be disturbed. Wherever she was, he was there, too. She started to believe it was fate’s hand.

She though they were very much alike - both broken, both crying inside, and both in need of somebody who could understand them. But she was afraid to make the first step.

So she continued to daydream about his, not aware that she was the first thing he thought about when he woke up and the last one when he went to sleep.

If only they hadn’t left fear take over their lives.
