I have never used an alarm clock to wake me up, but then I never get up at 5:00 am.  I know many people who depend upon alarm clocks to get them up and going in the morning.  But no matter how good your alarm clock is, there are still two things that you need to do.  If you don’t do these two things, the alarm is useless.  First you have to set it and secondly you need to get up when it rings.  I once had a friend who had his alarm clock across the room near the door.  He did this so that he would actually have to get out of bed to turn it off.  He realized it was still up to him to get up, even with the alarm clock.

Too many people expect God to wake them up when they find themselves in a spiritual sleep.  God will send us alarms to let us know we are on the wrong track, or wandering aimlessly, but it is still up to us to get up and do something about it.

Has God ever made your alarm clock ring because you were asleep or on the wrong track?  Did you do anything about it?  We cannot afford to be asleep.  In these days we must be awake and alert to God’s alarms.
