I'm a huge breakfast enthusiast. If I have a bad breakfast, the day just tends to go downhill from there. From pancakes to granola I love experimenting with different fruits and flavours, although my favourite breakfast food has definitely got to be porridge.

Yes, plain old porridge can get pretty boring, but luckily the flavour combinations for a humble bowl of oats are endless. Porridge by itself has such little flavour that you can literally add anything to it (i'm currently experimenting with cardamom infused milk) and it'll take on the flavour. It can be sweet or savoury, fruity or nutty, a decadent treat or superfood goodness- the possibilities are endless. There is just something I find satisfying about creating a pretty, and tasty, bowl of creamy oats. 

I am quite experimental with my porridge recipes so they don't always work out as successful as intended, but here are a few of my favourites:

Spiced Goat's Milk Porridge - this combines my two favourite things, oats and goats! A really strongly flavoured porridge of goat's milk, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg,  topped with chocolate nicecream, PB, blackberries, banana, cacao nibs, hazelnuts and chia seeds.

Dark chocolate and coconut porridge, naturally sweetened with banana and topped with melty dark chocolate- tasted soooooo good.

Superfood porridge of oats, chia, maca and flaxseed, topped with banana, warm berries, natural yoghurt and a sprinkling of cacao nibs.
