Codependency means a psychological construct that involves a kind of unhealthy relationship which people share with those who are closer to them. Initially, it was implied that the families who have a history of substance abuse are the ones who go through it. However, now it has grown to include other kinds of dysfunctional relationships as well. It is the reason these days many people go for their Codependency Treatment along with their partners.

Studies depicts that since codependency overlaps with other personality disorders, it appears to construct a different psychological idea. If in case they receive criticism or make an error, they may happen to become insecure.
  • Control Issues: A person who is codependent may associate their self-worth to the well-being of others. In case their loved one fails, they may feel like they failed themselves. Their endeavors to make the lives of other people better may shift into possessive or controlling behavior. It may eventually lead to abuse and controlling others which might not be taken well by others.
  • Self-Denial: A person who is codependent gives importance to the well-being of others rather than themselves. They deny their own needs. They are okay without any rest, self-care and emotional support. Eventually, they start feeling anxiety when asserting their desires. These people feel extremely uneasy when others offer them help or Codependency Treatment.

As mentioned, codependency is a psychological concept. It refers to such people who have an enormous amount of dependence on certain people in their lives. These could be their friends or family or loved ones. They feel responsible for the actions and feelings of those loved ones. Codependency is not known as a dissimilar personality disorder. However, there are many Codependency Treatment Centers in all hospitals and healing facilities around the world that can identify and help cope with these signs of Codependency.
