Having ambitions in life is so important, it gives you something to achieve and work for.  You’d be lying if you said you didn’t have a goal in life, whether it be a simple goal like starting a family or a really big ambition like moving to the Caribbean or somewhere super exotic.

So many children grow up with little goals to be a fireman or a ballerina, for them only to be crushed by teachers, forcing them to learn a somewhat pointless subject that doesn’t interest them. Everyone grows up with a creative mind, you won’t meet anyone more creative than a small child who hasn’t been stuck in a geography lesson that they don’t want to be in. why not let children chose their own subjects (obviously still with maths and English) but why force a child to do history when they can express themselves better in an art lesson? Spending 12 years of my life doing science has only made me hate the subject and be incredibly glad I don’t ever have to do it again, I would have benefited more by doing a creative subject like fashion design, realistically I’ve wasted 12 years of my life doing a subject that won’t benefit me in any career path I choose.

So many people have discouraged me about the career path I want to take, it’s actually made me want to do it more! I know I’m only fairly young however I have so many ambitions that I would love to achieve. I also think it’s important for everyone to have ambitions too!

If you’re young, it’s probably one of the hardest decisions in life choosing what subjects to take to lead you on the career path you want to do. I think it’s unfair to have to choose what you want to do for the rest of your life when you’re only 15/16. Because quite frankly, I don’t have a clue! Yeah I have some sort of idea what I want to do but it’s not certain. I would either love to work in the fashion industry (like that’s my ultimate goal), or be a lawyer, slightly less creative however very interesting, totally different to fashion but like I said I have no clue. DO NOT let anyone tell you what career you should and shouldn’t have, after all you’re most likely going to be doing it for the rest of your life. Do what makes you and only you happy!

Ideally I want to be married at 22 and be pregnant by 23, but I know that won’t happen because I’ll probably still be at university or have no money, but I can dream. It’s probably not ideal to have a baby so young but I reallyyyyy want a baby! Just because most people get married and have children doesn’t mean you have to! ‘If your best friend put their hand in a fire, would you do too?’ I rest my case. Don’t have a baby unless you totally want one and you know for certain you can afford to cater to its every need!

How amazing would it be to have a huge house in London, getting the tube to work every day, but on the other hand I want a cute cottage in the middle of the countryside surrounded by cute villages and forests. Like I said I have no idea what I want out of life yet, all I know is that I need to do whatever makes me happy and you should too!

No matter what anybody tells you, no matter who tells you that you shouldn’t do something that you love, do it anyway! Do what makes you happy, and I can assure you that you will be.
