We are living in times in which society has taken a cold turn and seldomly expresses love and compassion. Now in days compassion is demonstrated for many as a simple “awwwwww…” via text or facebook.

Emojis have simplified human emotions. Now in days- emotions (that were true/sincere) are thrown around like candy at a part..just for fun – with no true meaning…

Sadly, love is currently demonstrated with a cute little heart icon on social media and text.

We have lost essential elements in society. It was love, compassion (sincere emotions) that created  unity . It was through unity  that the “American People” reached amazing accomplishments in history.

What has happened to us? What is to become of my children’s generation?

Slowly – little by little, technology has taking from us the personal contact we much need for healthy development. It has taken from us the much needed skills of talking, feeling and expressing sincere emotions within our own families.

It has taken away from us the ability to write a handwritten letter of postcard. The ability to sit around the dinner table as a family and have “real” conversations about life.

Wife and husband now sit together in bed, glaring at their screens. They are in the same room, yet so far apart…

Social Media has given us a persona to portray in front of many – pride and arrogance has ran amuck on every ones profiles.

Our children are growing up quickly, being launched into an era in which all must be trendy, fashionable and “popping!”.

What have we done?

Do you know what is the most deceiving trap of the enemy?

Social Media,  Technology & Electronics have taken away the time you and I dedicated to God. Less households are reading the word. Less families are going to church. Less people in society pray and less are willing to set aside their hours of entertainment and truly seek GOD.

Families are paying the price:

Marriages suffer,  children suffer and even academics are suffering – as technology robs from focus and study time.

It all has a strong magnetic force on a society that is addicted to being entertained. Humans have become blind to reality and no longer see the loved ones across the table or a spouse in need of human touch.

*I encourage you, set aside family time (technology free). Agree on a (small) designated time for electronics and then turn them off the rest of the day. Read together, go on trips. Enjoy beautiful walks in nature. Laugh, play board games – be a family once again. Have family devotions.

*MAKE TIME FOR GOD. Work on a routine that consists of these essential spiritual elements throughout your week:

Prayer / Reading the word / Fasting / Attending a church..

It is time to invest in eternity. Our surroundings distract us, all is vanity and shall pass. Yet the word of God will remain forever. It will take us to salvation!

“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”  Philippians 4:8
