Animasola Island is Stunning!

That was it – stunning.

One word that can best describe these amazing rock formations.

I have never seen such marvellous rock structures in my life. The Philippines is really blessed with such beauty.

Welcome to Animasola Island. The rock formations look like Crêpes.

Welcome to Animasola Island. The rock formations really look like Crêpes.

These huge rock formations are seen in a small island, well known as Animasola Island in Masbate. This is so small that you can actually tour the entire island in less than an hour, picture taking included.

The rock formations are beautiful.

You can definitely shoot Instagram-worthy travel photos and even prenup photos.

Animasola Island is the first stop in every Burias trip of WanderFurther, Inc.

I went there in December 2016 and visited it again in February 2017. This February, I travelled with my brother. My brother and I excitedly toured the island.

Our first stop is the famous rock formation at the tip of the island. In the picture below, you’ll see my brother attempting to climb the top of the rock formation. However, he and my friends said that one can’t really climb the top without a companion. Someone who will give the other a little push upward and a helping hand once they decided to go down.

Just a reminder, the heat in Animasola Island is actually more intense than the other islands we visited.

Locals say that it is because of the rocks. They say that it absorbs the temperature and eventually emit more heat. Be sure to wear something cool and comfortable, you may also bring a scarf for cover. Also, don’t forget your shades and your sunblock – the higher the SPF, the better.

Animasola island is so small, you can actually explore it in a few minutes.

We later went to the back of the huge rock formations and saw this beautiful natural lagoon. It is like a small Jacuzzi, only with refreshing cold water.

The small island also offers a great view, fine sand and crystal clear waters. It is really a great place to isolate yourself from the metro, soul search, take a bunch of pictures, explore something new, or just simply relax.

I am glad that we were able to visit the place without a lot of crowds. I love that. Here in the Philippines, many people are too focused on other popular tourism spots that we sometimes forget to see that there are several places that are still worthy of exploring.

I am really hoping that the beauty of Animasola can also be preserved. And I also hope that the younger generation can still experience its stunning view.

Filipinos and people around the world should, therefore, experience its unique beauty. Masbate also offers an amazing summer destination, you’ll surely enjoy island hopping! Experience the wonders of nature, have a tan and soak in refreshing waters. I am truly encouraging you to visit the place. See you there!
