2016 has been FILLED with new books that I am so incredibly excited for. As I look towards fall 2016 I am just giddy with excitement for the books that I will hopefully have the opportunity to dive into. There are worlds that I am excited to dive back into, and others that I can’t wait to explore for the very first time. Here are some of the books that I am super excited to read in 2016:

A Shadow Bright and Burning by Jessica Cluess- Henrietta Howel is the one that they have prophesized about. She is the first female sorceress to join the Royal Sorcerers in years, and she is bound to help save the world. She is thrown into a world of only men and forced to try to show that she belongs in what has always been a man's world. However, she is not the chosen one. She is playing a dangerous game of deception to maintain her status, but will it work for her? This book is one I received an advanced copy of and I cannot even begin to tell you just how much I loved it. It is definitely something to keep on your radar for 2016.

The Midnight Star by Marie Lu- We continue in our final story with Adelina and her quest. Her quest involves revenge and involves ending the long life of suffering that she has experienced. Adelina is the anti-hero that I love but also don't understand, but I need to know just what happens in her final chapter.

Bright Smoke, Cold Fire by Rosmund Hodge- This is a Romeo and Juliet retelling, but with some creepy elements and a paranormal twist. It sounds insanely interesting, and since I don't necessarily love the Romeo and Juliet story I am anxious to see just what the author can do with this story to retell it.

Frost Like Night by Sara Raasch- The conclusion I have been waiting for I hope. I am longing to see what happens with Meira and her kingdom as they deal with all the threats that come up. As a recently recovered kingdom there are many problems that she must face, and in the world that they are in...well, there are many other issues going on. I have to find out what happens to her and Mather and everyone else. If you are looking for a fantasy world with excellent world building, look no further. I cannot wait to see how it all will end.

Heartless by Marissa Meyer- A book all about the Queen of Hearts? Yes please! Marissa Meyer is one of my favorite authors, especially when it comes to fairy tale retellings. I cannot wait to see the twists and turns she puts in this particular aspect of the Alice in Wonderland story.

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo- Again, a book that is picking up right where we left off. This book takes place after Kaz and crew pulled off the greatest heist imaginable. And instead of just splitting the large amount of money they are due they find themselves fighting for their lives once again. I cannot wait to see what will happen next and how certain loose ends will get tied up. Basically I need this book in my hands right now.

Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas- Book 5 of the Throne of Glass series continues to follow Aelin in her quest for the throne. She has loved and lost. She has fought and she has been beaten. But she is continuing to fight her way to the throne that she belongs to. I cannot wait to get my hands on this book and to dive right back into this world. My copy should be here Tuesday, so you best believe that I have very few plans for the next few days.

Glitter by Aprilynne Pike- The first sentence of the synopsis says "Breaking Bad meets Marie Antoinette in a near-future world where the residents of Versailles live like it’s the eighteenth century and an almost-queen turns to drug dealing to save her own life." So yea, I am totally on board with reading this book. The story of Marie Antoinette is a story that really intrigues me, and adding that "Breaking Bad" influence just really seems to catch my interest.

Timekeeper by Tara Sim- Set in an alternate Victorian world that is controlled by clocks, a broken clock can fracture time while a destroyed clock can stop time completely. Just based on the first sentence of the synopsis alone I am hooked. I am excited to get a little more alternate history in my reading, and to find out just what is happening with the clocks and how they can HOPEFULLY fix them

Fear the Drowning Deep by Sarah Glenn Marsh- Bridey, a witch's apprentice, has a strong hatred for the ocean ever since she watched her grandfather die in it. In 1913, when a young girl washes up to shore Bridey suspects that the same thing that killed her grandfather killed that girl. Soon people from the village start disappearing and Bridey must work with the Isle's witch to uncover the truth of the disappearances. I am excited to dive into this mystery and see just what is happening on this island.

Like a River Glorious by Rae Carson- This picks up right where the first book in the series left off and we get to see what Leah Westfall is up to out in California. I, for one, am hoping she finally gets the life that she deserves! If you like historical fiction with a small touch of fantasy I highly recommend checking this series out.

Spindle by Shonna Slayton- A Sleeping Beauty story set during the Industrial Revolution, tell me more please! I honestly am sold with just that alone, but if you read further you see the hardships that Briar Rose goes through in her life. You see that she has suffered and you long for her to have that fairy tale ending. I really am excited to see how this fairy tale plays out in this particular world.

Bound by Blood and Sand by Becky Allen- This story follows Jae, a slave in this desert world. The land is drying up, and if a source for water isn't found her people will die. Lord Elan's family rules this land, and just happens to visit the complex that Jae works at. Elan is dying to save his realm, and begs Jae to use her magic to save them. This sounds like a book that is totally for me, and I cannot wait until I can get my hands on it.

What are some books that have yet to come out this year that you are looking forward to?
