Too often we find ourselves in a place where we don’t want to be.  We will find ourselves depressed and unable to find a way out.  To some the problem is that they are trying to plan a way out.  I once heard Dr. George Hill, founder of Victory Churches International say, “If I’m not up, I’m getting up.”

I know it seems nothing more than a difference in wording, but it is an important one.  It shows a change in attitude.  He is not admitting to being down.  He is just affirming that if he is not up, he is in the process of working his way back up.  Sometimes, instead of looking for a way and seeing how that way will pan out, we need to just start getting up.  It doesn’t matter if you can’t see the end, all you need to see is the beginning, that first step.

For many that will be difficult.  What we need to do is pray and rely on the strength given us by the Holy Spirit to help us.  Philippians 4:13 tells us, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.(KJV)  If you’re not up, start getting up.
