The desert is greener than I expected. Not that I'm complaining. The cacti are my favorite I think. At least until tomorrow. Tomorrow we're going to Gila River arena for a hockey game. Hopefully my team wins, but we won't talk about that right now. Back to the cacti.

On Tuesday, we hung around Sedona. It was the warmest day of our vacation so we spent the afternoon at the hotel's pool. We were pretty much the only ones crazy enough to get in the water (it was an outdoor pool), but that made it more fun.

On Wednesday we drove down to Phoenix (which was a really long drive just fyi). We wanted to find a couple of used bookstores, and we got to talking with one of the workers and she gave us a tip to go see the Desert Botanical Gardens. Before she told us, we were kind of leary about going. We didn't think much would be in bloom at this time of year, but it was so worth it. There was so many cacti. My favorite ones are the really tall ones with the arms. (Basically what one would normally picture when one thinks of a cactus).

Today, we were going to look for a couple of waterfalls, but we didn't want to drive 14 miles down a dirt road. Also, we didn't know if the water would have been dried up so we didn't think it was worth it. Then we were going to check out a castle, but we changed our mind on that too, so we wound up staying in Sedona again. We wound up finding a really good pizza place for dinner tonight.

Tomorrow, we're going to Glendale for the night and then we are leaving bright an early Sunday morning to go back home. We could both honestly say that we're going to miss this area. I'll update you on our last day in Arizona when we get back home (after I get caught up for my novel for NaNoWriMo. I'm about three days behind. Oops).
