School is coming up soon and with sports and classes who knows how much I’ll be able to read? (Honestly I’ll have a cup of coffee and huddled up with a few books ignoring actual work, but details). So I wanted to do a little recap of the books I’ve read so far!

(Just a small note before, all the indented books means that these were part of a series together)

  1. Tall, Tatted & Tempting (4 out of 5 stars)
    • Smart Sexy & Secretive (4 out of 5 stars)
  2. Radiance (5 out of 5 stars)
    • Eidolon (5 out of 5 stars)
  3. Highland Awakening (3.5 out of 5 stars)
  4. Accordance (3.5 out of 5 stars)
    • Defiance (4.5 out of 5 stars)
    • Independence (5 out of 5 stars)
  5. Appointment with Death  (3.5 out of 5 stars)
  6. Doon (4 out of 5 stars)
  7. A Knight to Desire (3.5 out of 5 stars)
  8. A Court of Thorns and Roses (Book Review Coming) [5 out of 5 stars]

So during August you could say that I had a lot of time on my hands and did I make the most of it.

I’m starting with The Reed Brothers Series (the first two books on my list) by Tammy Falkner. This was a really fun read because in the whole series it focuses on one of the 5 Reed brothers. The first brother, Logan, is actually deaf and these two books explain his relationship with a seemingly homeless girl named Kit. This is a new adult romance book but it also has a lot of self development and just an overall lovely series. I don’t know if I will continue the series only because I absolutely loved Logan and Kit together and I have way more books that I’m trying to squeeze in, but I do see myself coming back to this eventually.

I’m skipping Radiance and Eidolon just because I already the review for both of these books up already

Highland Awakening by Jennifer Haymore is the second novel in a series called Highland Knights but can easily be read as a stand-alone. This is a romance book set in the 1800’s Scotland and about a young woman, who is secretly a novelist, and a Scottish mercenary. This was more of a guilty pleasure read for me and I definitely don’t regret it.

The Significance series by Shelly Crane is one of my favorite E-book series! It has everything I usually want in a book with romance, adventure, and (some) violence This is focused on the main characters Caleb and Maggie, who happen to be soulmates. Through the series they have to face problems with a rival family and even the government at one point who all threaten to keep them apart. But I don’t want to give too much away! I will say the series took me a while to finish just because I read the first two books and the rest were not out yet, but I’m so glad I picked it back up again because I felt whisked away into their world. And when a book can make me read until 2 in the morning, that’s saying something.

Appointment with Death was written by Agatha Christie and I think I’m going to try and read every one of her Poirot books. She isn’t called the Queen of Mystery for nothing, every time I think I know who committed the crime, and then it turns out to be a person that wasn’t even on my radar. I highly recommend this if you want a good mystery to snuggle up to a read.

So I also made a review about Doon earlier on my blog, so I think I’m going to go ahead a skip over that one too

A Knight to Desire was written by Gerri Russell and is another guilty pleasure romance book. This book is part of The Brotherhood of the Scottish Templars series and again can be read as a stand-alone. This book is about a woman named Brianna who is convinced that she needs to fight. As this being 14th century Scotland, women and fighting is not a thing that is even considered. But nonetheless she is determined to fight but there is someone in the Order that finds out she’s a women and well….you know the rest. This was a quick read as well but it didn’t grab me right away and took a while for me to get into it.

And last but not least, A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J Maas. I honestly think this book was THE best book I read this entire month. I won’t go into too many details here because I plan on writing a full review but let me just say this: Beauty and the Beast retelling, hunting, love, faeries and plot twists!! I seriously can’t stop thinking about this book!

That’s all for now! Happy Reading!
