In the foggy river mists

just before dawn

as water creatures spawn

within the crickets' hum echoing

in the damp forest

Fireflies light up the air

As the night's eyes . . .

Murky beasts creep and crawl

along the shores

and tread the quiet river

while lone hoodoos howl

under the pale moon

as soon they

and all of the danky kingdom

will brace for the presence

of their queen highness and master ruler

the high yellow and sweaty noon
