Bird Feeder

I woke last week to find snow on the ground and my bird feeder empty.  I filled the feeder and then got cereal out for my breakfast.  By the time I was ready to sit and eat there must have been 20 or 30 birds on and around my feeder.  They were chasing each other off the perches and scrounging seeds that had been thrown to the ground.  My question was, ‘How did so many know about the seeds so quickly?’

It’s almost as though they had a built in alarm system.  When fresh seed is put out within a mile of them, something inside them goes ‘RING’, and then a homing device leads them to the seeds.

We need to be more like these birds.  When spiritual food is offered us, we need to flock to it.  Too many will ignore it and go the other way.  In 2 Timothy 3:16 we are told, “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (KJV)

God’s Word is good for us and we need to flock to it in the same manner that those birds flocked to my feeder.  We need to get to it as quickly as possible and get as much as we can.
