We have a squirrel that is guilty of repeated break and enter.    I’m sure he’s trying to get closer to our food.  We had a small hole in the screen of our bedroom patio door.  He chewed it larger and let himself in.  In response I put some tape on the tear inside and outside until I could get it repaired properly.  He pulled the tape off and entered again.  My next step was to put a piece of wood across the whole to keep him out until I repaired the hole properly.  Today I found another hole chewed in the screen above the piece of wood.  I think my next step is to paint the screen with hot sauce.

If only we could be so determined in our desire to get closer to God.  In Colossians 3:2, Paul tells us to “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” (KJV)  We need to focus our whole being on heavenly things, not on the things of this earth.  If we could do that with the same determination of my squirrel friend, we would surely meet and commune with God, daily.
