Hey there! I decided to join in on Friday Introductions.

I'm Bethany. I'm 22. I'm married to my Best friend, Tyler. I'm going to school to be a graphic designer. I'm a blogger, a Dreamer, a writer, and an entrepreneur. I love coffee, books, laughter, and adventure. And I'm also part of the 2% of people who like Folk Music.

More than just introducing myself, I want to introduce you all to the origin story of the name "Choosing Jesus" for my blog.
When I was 16 years old my parents were killed in a head-on collision with a drunk driver.

After months of grief and shock, I felt like God stopped me in my tracks and asked, "Are you going to get mad at me and run from me forever? Or are you going to choose to trust me and run after me more than ever before?" Thankfully, through the grace of God, the living prayers of my parents, and the prayers of so many loved ones... I chose Jesus.

Now, 6 years later, I've faced the decision between Jesus and something else too many times to count. Every day, multiple times a day, we make the decision to follow what we want or to choose to listen to Jesus.
So, in case you've ever wondered, that's the origin story of Choosing Jesus.

I do this because:

1) God has been too amazing, done too much, and brought me too far for me to be silent. He deserves to be praised for it all.

2) I refuse to let my parent's death be in vain. My parents were two of the most dedicated Christ-followers I have ever seen, and they instilled that passion in me.
Because of their example and prayers, I had the choice and the desire to walk with God, even through tragedy.

3) If I can reach one person with my story, which is also my parent's story, then it makes it worth it. It brings to life, "God works all things for Good." I feel like every person who is touched by my parent's story continues their ministry and legacy, even now that they're gone.

As a dear friend told me, "For every person you reach, you're still adding more jewels to your Mom and Dad's crowns."

So that's me. That's my blog. That's our story.
