The other day on the news they had clips of military personnel returning home and being met by their families at the airport.  The soldier would come through the gate and then a spouse or child would run and jump into their arms.  They would stand and hug and kiss for a few minutes, both sides overcome with relief that they were again reunited. A long absence and an uncertain return made the reunion even more emotional.

I like to think that’s what will be like when I return to my home in heaven.  I can see myself coming through the gate and there will be loved ones that will run and meet me with hugs and kisses, thrilled that we will have again be reunited.  Tears of joy will flow amongst family and friends.

In the background I can see Jesus, standing with a tear in eye because He too has been awaiting my arrival.  2 Corinthians 5:6 tells us, “As long as we are in these bodies, we are away from the Lord.” (CEV)  As long as I am here on earth I am physically apart from my Lord.  But the day will come when I will leave this physical body and I will enter the spirit realm and I will run to greet friends and family, and yes, Jesus.
