"We don't go to church to get information; we go to get confirmation"

-Ryan Croutch

Think about that..

How many of us go to church to 'be fed' and to hear from God? To gain information. Hear me out, those are not bad things. But too many Christians go to church on a Sunday just for those exact things. To hear from God and to learn more about Him. Too many rely on their pastor to read the bible for them. Too many expect their pastor to read and read and read God's word, then explain what they read. Too many just take their pastor's word for what it is and use it as a replacement of the actual bible, rather than looking and learning for themselves. Instead of going to the actual living, breathing, Word of God.

We put ourselves in this position to just listen to our pastor, hoping they'll say something that will stick with us to get us through until the next Sunday. Looking to be informed on who God says we are, what His instructions for us on earth are. And yes, our Sunday services are an awesome opportunity to be filled up in order to pour out. For fellowship and building relationships.

But listen to this -

God is speaking to you. Everyday. Not just Sunday, to and through your pastor or prayer team. But He is speaking personally and individually to YOU. Each and every day.

Do you have the correct posture to receive what He is telling you? Are you listening to His voice, aware of the Holy Spirit guiding you?

Don't just take your pastor's word for who God says you are. You are individually unique. He created you to be set apart, not to conform. Find out for yourself who God has created you to be!

Psalm 139: 13-14

13 For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.

I challenge you; to listen. To dial in to  the Holy Spirit and listen to what He is telling you. Write it down, pray over it, speak it out. Go to your Sunday service with a new posture, a new [expectation] that you will receive confirmation on whatever God is speaking to you. Seek His face, seek His voice.

I hope this week is treating you well, and that you are experiencing His joy, love, and peace.

Blessings,

Tori
