Arenal Volcano

Arenal Volcano National Park is one of the most visited volcano viewing area in the country located in Cordillera de Tilaran. It is a mighty cone shaped volcano that attracts tourists from all over the world. Its history goes back to 1500 AD but its first eruption occurred in 1968 due to which 82 people were killed and two villages got destroyed. 

Monteverde and Cloud Forests

If you plan to see some nature, wildlife and unique habitats then Monteverde and Cloud Forests is the perfect tourist destination for you. The clouds here provide moisture imperative to keep these unique habitats sustained. While you are there, lookout for chirping birds, all kind of mammals, reptiles and amphibians. National Theater, San Jose

San Jose is the capital and largest city of Costa Rica and the city takes pride in their state-of-the-art National Theater which is one the most attractive and impressive building. This historic building was constructed in 1897 and it resurrected the classic European art with an addition of statues as a symbol of dance, music and fame. The most famous painting of theater was made by Arturo Fontana in 1987 and it shows the coffee being harvested and exported. 

Tortuguero National Park

Head to the Tortuguero National Park to enjoy the additional company of loads of green sea turtle. You may have to reach this wettest area of country by boat or plane. Better not to swim because the tides are very rough and sharks are also spotted in sea. However, you can enjoy the hiking trails or opt for boat rides along canals where you will also spot some monkeys and kinkajous. 

Jaco

Tamarindo 

Tamarindo is one of the great places to go in Costa Rica and it provides all kinds of amenities to its tourists. Tamarindo Beach is 1.5km long and it is the most-wanted place to visit. Rincon de la Vieja

Rincon de la Vieja is a National Park located in North Pacific region of Costa Rica and it is named after a large steaming volcano which is its main attraction. It is a very fascinating and unique tourist destination with features like hot springs, bubbling mud pits, craters and vapor vents. It also features wildlife and vast variety of plants. The hiking trails are no longer available since its volcano’s last eruption in 2011.

Irazu Volcano National Park

Hike to the summit of this highest active volcano in Costa Rica at 3,342 meters. Its crater is 300 meters deep and 1,050 meters in diameter. The complete National Park covers the area of 2,309 hectare and it has marked trails for its visitors to reach the crater. 

Manuel Antonio National Park

It is the smallest yet most visited national park due to its easy accessibility from San Jose. It is also one of the most calm, tidy and relaxing beach with lush green forests. The clear water, white sand and eye-catching coral reef makes it one of the best National Park of Costa Rica.
