Really we should only do things that make us happy. When we are happy, we are naturally inclined to make other people happy. Imagine a world where everyone filled an occupation that was conducive to his or her success. Instead we dehumanize humans and force them to work jobs to supply the mass consuming we all engage in. I am blessed to do what I love. Its not easy some days. Choosing to be a yogi and yoga teacher in a small town Baptist community is like walking up to the front of the Church on Sunday and announcing to the congregation that your gay. Yoga is still very much so taboo here. Not so much for the younger generations but definitely for the older ones. Everyone fails to see that the two are not separate for one another, but thats a story for another day. Choosing to be a yoga teacher despite the little support I receive from the community is something I am choosing to pursue because I love it. When we love what we are doing, we will put effort in, we are more creative with problem solving, we are more accepting of the amount of time needed to be spent on a task for work because it is something we are interested in. We feel that by serving a purpose, our purpose serves us. In most cases today, the job is taking, while the employee is not receiving anything in return. This is not the case for everyone. However, if I polled most of the people I am friends with alone, they would rather be doing something else with their time. We are creative beings as humans. All of our creative abilities are nowhere close to being tapped into. The way the corporate America is set up is to be very limiting. I am still so conditioned to think I work during the week and play on the weekends. WHO SAID SO?? Maybe I want to work everyday because I like what I am doing. All of this to say is I am tearing down conditioned walls of ways I think my reality should look. My conception of success was built on the ideas that all the adults around me gave me growing up. Reflecting, not one of those people had or have a life I want. So I'm going to create my own. You should too. I believe in the good things coming.
